Chief Accountant

• Solid experience in accounting, preferably in multinational companies; experience in logistics and warehousing is a plus.
• Experience and SAP knowledge will be considered as a plus.
• Effective and timely communication with all stakeholders involved, including Maersk service center (India) and fiscal Authorities.
• Strong analytical skills, challenger mindset, high drive and focus on personal development.
• A proactive, energetic, and resourceful person.
• MS Office (advanced Excel) is a plus.
• Fluency in Romanian and English (written and spoken).
• A financial educational background - degree in finance, Tax, or Accounting; ideally Chartered Accountant qualification.

Location

This position is available at our Constanta office, located in Agigea port. Following the onboarding period, the new joiner will have the flexibility to work from home, 2 days per week. We are committed to finding the best talent and are open to candidates from Bucharest who are willing to travel to Constanta for a few days per month. Key responsibilities:

• As Chief Accountant you are reporting to the Country Finance Manager, and you will lead the statutory accounting & fiscal reporting's:
• Coordinate the team consisting of 4 accountants.
• Key user for all new L&S products implementation and all system updates for existing products, check the transfer of correct data between operational systems and SAP, active participant in the current & new upcoming projects: e-invoice, SAFT, transfer pricing file, data privacy procedures.
• Checking & approving vendors invoices in SAP and coordinate vendor payments timely execution.
• Bank process coordinator and approver in the bank, main contact with banks.
• Follow up vendors & customers advance payments.
• Fixed assets and prepayments control.
• Perform GL account reconciliation and 3rd parties' reconciliation and review the General Ledger on a regular basis, to ensure income & cost codes are being properly used and maintain general ledger and all related accounts with proper documentation and records of all company transactions.
• Check expense reports from Concur system.
• SGA and operational cost accrual.
• Organizer and controller of stock control and annual inventory.
• Check VAT journals and other type of reports used for monthly VAT statements but also drawing up and submission of all fiscal statements; Saf-T statements; Corporate income tax calculation, e-invoice reporting.
• Overall knowledge of the accounting & fiscal legislation in order to provide support for team members but also to ensure the back-up when the ATR titular of the job is missing.
• Supports the internal monthly closing process and internal audit process by providing required supporting documents (BS reconciliation).
• Statutory audit - main contact for auditors, prepare audit reports and draw up Finacial reporting (BS, PL, Notes, Capital moves and Cash flow), coordinate the team to provide information to auditors.
• Statistical reporting to different authorities: Intrastat; National Bank of Romania, National Statistics Institute.
