About the Role

IOT Group is establishing a dedicated HSE function in Romania and we are looking for a proactive and driven HSE Coordinator to build, implement and continuously improve our Health, Safety & Environmental framework at our Târgu Jiu operations.
This is a high-visibility role reporting directly to the General Manager, offering the opportunity to shape the local HSE strategy in an international oil & gas services environment.

What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or technical field preferred)
  • Certified Occupational Health & Safety Inspector (mandatory)
  • Minimum 1 year of HSE experience in industrial / oil & gas / heavy equipment environment
  • Strong knowledge of Romanian HSE and environmental legislation
  • Experience in risk assessments and incident investigations
  • Good understanding of industrial processes and equipment
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the HSE function
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication and training delivery abilities
  • Physically fit for industrial site inspections (including work at heights when required)

Key Responsibilities

🟢 Occupational Health
  • Manage occupational health activities in collaboration with the external occupational medicine provider
  • Maintain and update risk assessments and health surveillance documentation
  • Implement measures to prevent occupational illnesses
  • Coordinate workplace hygiene services (cleaning, disinfection, pest control)
  • Deliver occupational health training and awareness sessions

🟡 Occupational Health & Safety
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures
  • Perform risk assessments and monitor exposure to workplace hazards (noise, vibration, heat, etc.)
  • Investigate incidents, accidents and near-misses; implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Ensure proper PPE allocation and compliance
  • Maintain emergency preparedness systems (fire detection, alarm, evacuation, drills)
  • Coordinate contractor HSE compliance and controlled access requirements
  • Develop and update internal HSE procedures and work instructions

🔵 Environment
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Permit requirements and applicable legislation
  • Investigate environmental incidents and support spill response preparedness
  • Monitor waste management and ensure full traceability from generation to disposal
  • Liaise with environmental authorities and ensure timely reporting
  • Promote environmental awareness and responsible waste segregation practices

  • Ensure compliance with Romanian HSE legislation and industry standards
  • Prepare inspection, investigation and regulatory reports
  • Contribute to sustainability and social responsibility initiatives
  • Identify improvement opportunities and proactively develop risk prevention strategies
  • Support management with HSE performance indicators and compliance tracking.
