Health & Safety Specialist

What can you expect to be doing?

• Secure implementation of all policies, procedures and standards of Occupational safety and health and Fire safety in order to maintain safe work environment in all our stores. 
• Ensure the creation/development of procedures and safety rules and participation in the creation of internal procedures, regulations and instructions concerning health and safety and fire protection
• Follow-up on collecting data of work clothes and safety shoes and purchasing them for employees
• Responsible for the inventory of the stock equipment from stores related to the Fire and Occupational health and safety
• Support Development Manager in new stores opening in terms of fire safety requirements
• Following-up on introducing and periodic trainings for employees (work and fire safety, first aid, forklifts etc) and following-up of all questions from staff regarding Occupational safety and health
• Creating together with Retail the informational materials regarding H&S rules/issues (informational campaigns, monthly newsletter, new trainings or videos etc)
• Other reporting tasks (work accidents, analyzes etc)

Qualification requirements: 

Therefore we are searching for a result driven, proactive, competent and committed Health and Safety Specialist who can make the difference every day.

You can be the one if:

• You have university studies, bachelor's degree in the technical, agricultural or forestry field.
• You have experience as H&S specialist more than 2 years; Retail experience is considered as advantage
• You have solid and proven knowledge about Romanian laws reg. Health and Safety and Fire Protection (organisation of work, special equipment usage, reporting etc)
• You are very good in planning and implementing, as also in follow-up
• You have the ability to communicate at all levels, which goes hand in hand with your positive, persistent, flexible and problem solving attitude, but still respecting all rules and legislations
• You are multitasking, decisive and detailed oriented person, being able to quickly predict future problems that may arise and come up with solutions to prevent them
• You have a friendly and “customer first” oriented attitude
• You have the ability to work in a multinational/multicultural environment
• You have computer skills - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
• You are fluent in English, working in a multinational environment
• Driving license category B – the job does not have an assigned car, but pool car available
• You are able to travel 15% of your time

We are searching for a result driven, proactive, competent and committed Health & Safety Specialist with potential to develop within the business. 

You will be located in Bucharest and will be responsible, at country level, together with the external services provider, for all tasks related to Occupational health and safety including activities of control, advisory, opinion, and participation in the daily work. 
You will also make training and practical follow up tasks in the stores and the administrative part of the role is to be kept to a minimum, though always fulfilling the legal requirements in the country.

You will report directly to Johanna Chivaran, HR Manager for Romania.
