IT Systems Administrator (f/m)

We are looking for a IT Systems Administrator (f/m) to join our team in Hameln, Germany.


  • Nnear-native fluency in English
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years IT Systems Administrator experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working within a multi-national company
  • Team player is a must
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering-related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in system administration, including experience with Windows, Mac, server and desktop operating systems; webhosting and html; MS Active Directory; MS Sharepoint (Office 365); software license server applications; video-conferencing system operation and maintenance.
  • Candidate must be a self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, strategic thinking, ability to work reliably and independently, strong teamwork skills and customer service attitude.

(20%) INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGN, INSTALLATION, AND SUPPORT: Manages the companies Information Technology resources in a Windows and Mac environment, including installation of new/rebuilt servers, configuration of hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc., in accordance with project and operational requirements. Installs and configures systems supporting web-based database infrastructure, software licensing applications, webhosting, administrative needs, and student education. Secures, maintains records of, and monitors software licensing agreements.

(20%) SYSTEM MONITORING AND BACKUP: Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all server hardware and software resources. Reviews system and application logs. Performs daily backup operations of all file systems and recovery data to the appropriate media. Purges and archives files as necessary. Creates, changes, and deletes user accounts on request. Monitors data center environment and equipment.

(20%) SYSTEM MAINTENANCE: Applies OS patches and upgrades regularly, and upgrades administrative tools and utilities. Configures and adds new services as necessary. Performs ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configures CPU, memory, and disk partitions as needed. Maintains companies printers, scanners, and copiers. Manages hardware and software maintenance contracts.

(15%) END USER AND COMPANY BUSINESS PROCESS SUPPORT: Provides user support on request from various departments within the company group. Investigates and troubleshoots issues. Repairs and recovers from hardware and software failures. Communicates and coordinates with impacted constituencies and internal stakeholders. Develops, promulgates, and promotes compliance with IT policies, processes and procedures. Develops, implements, supports hardware/software solutions for the companys' business process needs; proactively assesses the departmental IT hardware and software and needs for their upgrade or optimization in order to best support department's goals, activities and business processes; develops and updates Standard Operating Procedures and business workflow in the assigned area of responsibility.

(15%) NETWORK AND SYSTEM SECURITY: Performs regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions and implement appropriate response measures.

(5%) A/V AND TELECONFERENCING: Provides implementation, maintenance, and technical support for Audio/Visual and teleconferencing systems.

(5%)Performs other tasks, duties, and responsibilities as assigned. Collaborate with the Deans office on ad-hoc projects.
