Job Description

Job Overview:
The Field Specialist plays a vital role within the operational team by installing field-level instrumentation, automation, electrical and control tasks in oil and gas operations to ensure safe, accurate, and reliable data acquisition and system performance. This includes the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of field instrumentation, as well as ensuring accurate data transmission to control systems such as SCADA, DCS, and PLCs.

The role plays a vital part in supporting operational continuity and safety by maintaining high standards of service quality, data integrity, and compliance with HSE and regulatory requirements. By working closely with Field Engineers, Operators and Software Engineers, the Field Specialist contributes to efficient production operations, equipment reliability, and the continuous improvement of automation and instrumentation systems.

Salary to be offered RON 7,700 - 9,600 gross monthly and benefits.

Responsibilities:
  • Install, calibrate, test, and maintain field instrumentation (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level sensors) in oil and gas facilities.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance and functional testing of instrumentation and control systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faulty instruments, wiring, signal transmission issues, and control system communication faults.
  • Ensure accurate and reliable data transmission from field devices to control systems (e.g., SCADA, DCS, PLCs).
  • Monitor and verify the quality, accuracy, and integrity of field data used for operational decision-making and compliance reporting.
  • Assist in the configuration and integration of smart instruments and digital communication protocols (e.g., HART, Modbus, Foundation Fieldbus).
  • Maintain proper documentation of instrumentation configurations, maintenance activities, and calibration records.
  • Ensure all instrumentation and control systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with automation, electrical, software and operations teams to support commissioning, startup, and ongoing production activities.
  • Support the implementation of reliability programs, asset health monitoring, and instrumentation upgrades or expansions.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance situations to restore safe operation and data availability quickly.
  • Participate in hazard analysis, risk assessments, and safety audits related to instrumentation and control systems
  • Maintain equipment, facilities, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition
