An assistant manager is responsible for the overall operations of a retail store, including customer service, productivity, profitability, training and development of staff, and control of expenses and shortages. The assistant manager together with the store manager are accountable for using all available resources such as time, materials, and people to meet store objectives.
•Assigns employees to specific duties.
•Responsible for work schedules, and controls break periods, work hours, and vacations.
•Follows up on inventory levels and orders merchandise.
•Prepares requisitions to ensure proper stock replenishment.
•Ensure proper store image.
•Train and educate his/her staff.
•Delegate responsibilities between his/her staff
•Responsible for meeting all budgetary items such as personnel expenses and sales.
•Responsible for the operation of his/her own store such as inventory control, and maintenance.
•Answers customer’s complaints or inquiries.
•Opens, closes the store and ensures Locked and secured stores.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
•High school degree is the minimum requirement.
•Fluent in written and spoken English. Spanish is a plus.
CHARACTARISTICS & COMMUNICATION SKILLS
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•Well organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and to manage time effectively.
•Strong product knowledge.
•Smart and presentable, with an outgoing personality.
