This is a hybrid position, located in Bucharest.
Essential duties & responsibilities:
- Provide support for Cisco Catalyst and Nexus routers/switches, Cisco wireless controllers and access points, enterprise SD-WAN (Aruba/SilverPeak), and ISP connectivity;
- Possess working knowledge of MPLS, DIA, and WAN topologies and demonstrate ability to troubleshoot connectivity throughout a global footprint;
- Demonstrate an understanding of the OSI model and successfully troubleshoot physical connectivity throughout a large enterprise;
- Balance providing day-to-day support and quickly responding to issues, while still ensuring that projects are delivered on time with successful outcomes;
- Possess capabilities using Cisco Catalyst Center to stage/deploy new switch hardware and perform large-scale upgrades. Also leverage knowledge of Cisco ISE during troubleshooting activities;
- Adhere to security initiatives, operational improvement processes, and industry best practices;
- Knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF;
- Effectively use monitoring/administrative tools to maintain network uptime and efficiency. These include but are not limited to: Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG, and Aruba Orchestrator;
- Provide 24 x 7 support (when necessary) for both planned and emergency activities, in an effort to minimize disruptions to the production environment.

- Proven success in time management and organizational skills;
- Strong written, verbal and presentation competencies;
- Desire to learn new technical skills and adapt to an ever-changing IT landscape;

- Maintain and/or create documentation and network diagrams in Visio;
- Possess ability to work calmly, even during high-pressure or production-down situations;
- Basic working knowledge of SSH, FTP/SFTP, DNS/DHCP, IP addressing, Microsoft Windows, Unix/Linux, and security technologies.
- Minimum 2-4 years as a network engineer (or equivalent) in a medium or large enterprise environment;
- Demonstrate ability to navigate Cisco maintenance, open and facilitate TAC cases, upgrade firmware, maintain backups, and understand hardware/software compatibility;
- Administration of various Cisco hardware models, including but not limited to Nexus 9K, ASR/ISR, Catalyst 9K series, Catalyst 4K/6K series, and 2960X/3560X series;
- Possess knowledge of integrations between the networking and security environments;
- Proficiency in layer 1 cabling standards (Fiber/Ethernet/Analog) throughout an enterprise environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Cisco certification in routing and switching, security, or enterprise preferred
- English is a must – excellent written and verbal communication skills
