We are looking for an Automation / Production Engineer with a strong hands-on background in industrial equipment, maintenance and production automation to help one of our clients from the automotive industry.
The role combines production support, maintenance, troubleshooting and automation, with PLCs used as an important technical tool for diagnosing and solving problems on automated production lines.
You will work closely with production and technical teams to ensure the availability and proper functioning of industrial equipment and production lines.

- You will be responsible for providing hands-on technical support for our industrial automation equipment, working directly with the customer's production and maintenance teams. This is not simply a PLC programming position.
- Diagnose and resolve machine breakdowns and production issues. Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs and machine sequences.
- Diagnose and support industrial robots and robot/PLC communication.
- Troubleshoot sensors, actuators, I/O, electrical systems and industrial networks.
- Diagnose basic mechanical and pneumatic problems.
- Read electrical schematics and machine documentation. Identify defective components and perform on-site repairs when required.
- Work with internal engineering teams to identify and resolve complex problems. Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions. Support new machine installations, commissioning and production ramp-up. Implement machine optimizations and continuous improvements.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills. Comfortable working directly on industrial machinery.
- Ability to work independently in a production environment.
- Valuable experience in Siemens TIA Portal / Step 7.
- Industrial robots such as KUKA, ABB, FANUC or Yaskawa.
Requirements:
- Technical education in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation or a related field is a plus.
- English Conversational, Spanish is a plus.
- 2-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, production engineering, automation or a similar technical role.
- Good understanding of industrial automation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with PLC systems and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Beckhoff Controllers / TwinCAT is an advantage, but not mandatory.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
