Requirements:

• Completed commercial apprenticeship (e.g. industrial clerk, office clerk) or equivalent qualification in controlling, accounting, or finance;
• Good understanding of expense policies and compliance rules;
• Basic accounting knowledge is a plus;
• Familiarity with tools like SAP Concur or similar systems;
• 1–3 years of experience in travel expense accounting (1–2 years also acceptable);
• Proficiency in German and English (minimum B2 level).

Your future role:

We are looking for a Travel & Expense Consultant to join a back-office finance team responsible for the audit and processing of travel expense reports for both domestic and international business trips. The role also includes handling specific reimbursement processes such as expense claims for external travelers and reimbursement of private travel cards (e.g. BahnCard).

Responsibilities:

• Audit and review domestic and international travel expense reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies, tax, and social security regulations;
• Independently handle end-to-end travel expense cases in SAP Concur, including data collection, validation, issue analysis, and compliance decision-making;
• Process expense claims for external travelers and manage reimbursements, including special cases (e.g., private travel cards such as BahnCard);
• Apply internal policies, procedures, and automated validation checks to ensure consistent and compliant processing;
• Maintain regular communication with a globally operating client, supporting day-to-day coordination and providing insights into travel expense processes;
• Respond to client inquiries via email and phone, clarify open questions, and deliver reliable, solution-oriented support;
• Take ownership of defined workstreams, managing smaller travel expense processes independently while ensuring structured and accurate execution;
• Prepare clear, concise, and timely reports for internal management;
• Support project planning activities by using templates and internal guidelines, assisting client-facing teams in organizing and executing projects.
