As a Technical Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting new projects, supplier development, and cost optimization initiatives. You will take ownership of technical sourcing activities and actively contribute to supplier and cost optimization strategies. This position involves close collaboration with internal teams and suppliers to ensure technical alignment, cost efficiency, and supply continuity.
You will contribute to building strong supplier partnerships, improving cost structures, and supporting business growth through informed technical purchasing decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in project kick-off meetings with Sales and Costing teams
- Send RFQs and evaluate supplier technical capabilities and costs
- Analyze raw material costs and identify optimization opportunities
- Build and maintain supplier database based on technical capabilities
- Support supplier onboarding and technical validation (FAI)
- Align with Logistics on engineering changes impacting cost or supply
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative sourcing options
- Support supplier base development (cost, quality, capacity)
- Perform supplier risk assessments and define mitigation actions
- Develop market and cost structure knowledge for materials and suppliers
