• Support the development of an environmental sustainability commitment statement, charter, and strategic plan to incorporate environmental sustainability into the organization’s current framework with roles and responsibilities identified.
• Collaborate with appropriate departments and key partners on developing and collating projects to implement sustainability initiatives.
• Communicate the organization’s environmental sustainability strategy, initiatives, progress, and achievements with colleagues, clients, stakeholders.
• Research regulatory compliance requirements that impact company operations and develop policies and procedures for areas including materials and waste, safer chemicals, environmentally preferable purchasing, transportation, energy, water, climate.
• Monitor and conduct regular audits to evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability programs and identify areas for continual improvement, provide updates and briefs, track financial efficiency and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify progress on important sustainability metrics.
• Forge and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to expand the organization’s sustainability work.
• Draft and implement social responsibility initiatives related to sustainability, organizing company-wide environmental volunteer activities.
• Develop communication materials regarding company’s sustainability goals, programs and achievements.
