Site Leader Romania – Industrial Solar Panel Systems

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Site Leader to oversee our operations in Romania. The project will be lead from the HQ in Belgium by a Project Manager, supported by our Belgian engineering and purchase team. The execution of the projects will partly be subcontracted and outsourced.

As the Site Leader you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all local aspects of our industrial solar panel project such as organising and managing teams and logistics, controlling, supervising and resolving, ensuring timely completion, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations.
Reporting directly to the headquarters in Belgium, the Site Leader will play a crucial role in driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of safety, and delivering results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Operations: Oversee day-to-day site operations, including logistics, (local) procurement, resource allocation, and subcontractor management, to ensure smooth project execution.
• Communication and Relations: Serve as the link between the ExtraPower Project manager and the local (subcontractor) teams. Ensure pro-active communication.Serve as the local primary point of contact for subcontractors and clients addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and building strong relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business. Responsible for communication and negotiation with local authorities and entities to allow the execution of the projects to ensure a correct application of the legislation and procedures.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a diverse team of technicians, and contractors, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Responsible for quality control to ensure the correct execution of the electrical and mechanical works, being supported by control manuals and directives, and Agreed Planning of Works. Ensure safety protocols to meet regulatory requirements and uphold company standards.
• Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports, project documentation, and ensure pro-active communication with your Project Manager in Belgium during the course of the project.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in project/site management, preferably in the renewable energy or construction sector, with a focus on solar energy projects.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in managing diverse teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Strong technical knowledge of solar energy systems, construction practices, and relevant regulations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Romanian native speaker with fluency in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Belgium and work flexible hours as needed.
• Driver’s license.
