The International School of Bucharest is seeking a committed, proactive, and professional Shadow Teacher to provide consistent one-to-one support for a student during the school day.
The role is central to supporting the child’s learning, behaviour regulation, and social development, while working closely with classroom staff, parents, and the Student Wellbeing Support Team to ensure alignment with school values and procedures.

Key Responsibilities & Expectations
●Implement all school policies and procedures, including behaviour management, safeguarding, and communication protocols
●Provide close, active, and preventative support, remaining physically near the student at all times
●Support learning, play, and social interactions using redirection, pre-emptive strategies, and co-regulation
●Intervene proactively to reduce risk and prevent escalation, rather than observing from a distance
●Work every school day from 8:30 AM until dismissal, ensuring consistency and continuity of support
●Complete and share a Daily Communication / Support Report with accurate and consistent information for parents and the class teacher
●Ensure all communication is aligned with classroom staff and does not contradict information shared by the teacher or school
●Communicate professionally with parents and staff, copying all key staff (class teacher, counselor, pastoral leader) on any emails
●Follow reporting procedures for concerns or incidents, informing the class teacher immediately and recording details in the daily report
●Report attendance and absences promptly, notifying the school and parents in advance where possible
●Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and safeguarding standards in all documentation and communication

International School of Bucharest is a non-profit day school providing a British style of education for children aged 2 to 19 years in Bucharest, Romania’s capital city. Children in the Early Years, Primary and Secondary school (ages 2 to 14) follow the National Curriculum and Cambridge International Curriculum which is adapted to meet the needs of our international student body. Students in Years 10 and 11 follow the Cambridge IGCSE programme. Years 12 and 13 are the final two years of our programme where students are prepared for International Baccalaureate.
