ManpowerGroup Romania is recruiting an Accountant for its client, a well-established Romanian company that is part of an international agribusiness group.
Location: Bucharest

Summary: The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing core accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with Romanian accounting and tax regulations, while supporting month-end closing, tax filings, and audit processes at local level, in line with group reporting requirements.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of Romanian accounting and tax legislation.
Experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
Advanced Excel skills.
Good communication skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:
Perform reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts, including customers, suppliers, inventory, payroll-related accounts, and other relevant accounts.
Prepare and post monthly, quarterly, and annual closing entries, including VAT-related entries.
Prepare, review, and submit monthly tax returns and statutory reports in compliance with Romanian accounting and tax legislation.
Prepare statutory financial statements and supporting documentation.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of accounting records in accordance with internal procedures and legal requirements.
Actively monitor customer balances and support collection processes by reconciling receivables and analyzing outstanding balances.
Prepare reports and analyses related to receivables aging, average collection period, and other accounting KPIs.
Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditors’ requests.
Reconcile payroll accounts with payroll summaries and salary statements.
Provide accounting support and guidance to other departments on operational matters.
Stay up to date with changes in accounting and tax legislation and apply them appropriately in daily activities.
