Candidatul Ideal
Location: Chisinau, Republic of Moldova – on-site, central office
Main Purpose of the Job: This is a role for an auditor who already runs fieldwork independently. You’ll own engagement quality end-to-end, be the day-to-day technical point of contact for the client, and have direct access to managers and partners on the questions that genuinely need their input – not a layer of sign-off for everything else.
Job Profile:
- Plan and run audit fieldwork on assigned engagements, in line with the firm’s methodology and the agreed timeline.
- Assess internal control systems, define the audit approach and design the testing procedures for each significant area.
- Review associates’ working papers for completeness, accuracy and consistency with conclusions drawn.
- Verify that financial statements comply with applicable IFRS presentation and disclosure requirements.
- Resolve technical accounting and auditing questions raised during fieldwork under ISA, escalating only what genuinely requires manager or partner input.
- Prepare engagement summaries, management letters and draft audit reports.
- Coordinate file review with the manager and follow through on review points until closed.
- Monitor engagement progress, budget and deadlines, and flag deviations early.
- Act as the main day-to-day contact for the client’s finance team – you’re the face of the firm in the field.
- Guide and review the work of associates, providing on-the-job coaching without slowing the engagement down.
Candidate Profile:
- Degree in economics, accounting or finance.
- 3+ years minimum of audit experience required, with hands-on involvement in full engagements from planning to reporting.
- Solid command of IFRS and ISA, and the confidence to apply them to real, sometimes ambiguous, client situations.
- ACCA student status is an advantage; interest in completing the qualification is welcome.
- Good command of English, written and spoken; working Romanian and Russian, since most of our Chisinau client base operates day-to-day in both.
- Confident use of Excel and audit documentation tools.
- Analytical, structured and able to hold quality standards under deadline pressure.
- Able to explain, review and correct junior colleagues’ work without becoming a bottleneck.
- Professional, composed presence in front of client finance teams and management.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary package, correlated with experience.
- Full ACCA support: covered fees, study materials and paid study leave.
- Career progression with performance reviews twice a year.
- Real exposure to international engagements and multinational clients – not just local statutory work.
- Central office location and flexible morning start.
- Direct access to managers and partners on technical matters, not a queue.
