Proven experience of leading, guiding, developing, and motivating a team of technicians.

Strong technical capability to manage projects and oversee first builds.
Hands on approach to manufacturing looms and assemblies on time.
Delivering projects on time within timescales and to budget.

To manage and motivate the Team leaders and technicians leading by example and ensuring skills and experience are utilised for the good of the company and in line with company and department guidelines.
To assist in the recruitment and selection of new team members working closely with the Production Manager and HR team.
To work with the Trainers in arranging and implementing an appropriate induction and skills training programme for all new staff, as appropriate.
To work closely with Team Leaders to ensure effective short-term planning, correctly allocating labour resource.
To assist in developing individual skills matrices for the department and each team member.
To ensure that the skills matrices are kept up to date on a regular basis to defined schedule.
To liaise with the trainers to ensure Personal Development Records [PDRs] are kept up to date, and training delivered as required.
In conjunction with Production Manager and HR to identify, organise and implement training requirements and record progress.
To act as mentor for the Team Leader using expertise to guide, support and develop them further.
To conduct appraisals, set SMART objectives and monitor progress on a quarterly basis.
To motivate and provide effective communication through regular briefings, 1:1 discussion, etc.
To manage large and/or complex projects manufacturing wiring looms and assemblies to company and customer specifications.
To implement corrective actions from CARS within agreed timescales.
To regularly complete Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Audits in line with schedules.
In conjunction with Supplier Quality Engineer raise Supplier Non-Conformance Requests as and when required.
To identify and participate in any personal development including lean manufacturing training which contributes to your department and/or company objectives.
To assist and support the Production Manager in delivering the department and company objectives.
To discuss with management, engineering, and other departments any matters relating to manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes and reduce costs.
To ensure clear communication between technical and production departments, to allow for the successful implementation of all engineering changes to products.
To carry out duties as required by the company to ensure a quality product is delivered to customers on time.
