The U.S. Mission in Bucharest, Romania is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Purchasing Agent position in the Procurement office.
This position is available IN ADDITION to the PROCUREMENT AGENT (DEPUTY PROCUREMENT SUPERVISOR) role in the same department. Interested candidates can apply for both, if qualified.

Position Requirements:
Position is available at both full performance levels, and the training grade option, for candidates with less experience.
Completion of High School is required.
Required Language Proficiency:
Fluent English and Fluent Romanian is required. This may be tested.
Required Job Knowledge:
Must have strong knowledge of standard procurement practices, local market practices, conditions, and suppliers.
Required Skills And Abilities:
Very good communication skills, sound judgment and ability to make decisions to resolve problems are required in order to effectively understand the customers' needs and communicate with the senior agencies heads and management level personnel of all sections and suppliers.
Must be computer literate, using Microsoft WP, Outlook, Excel. This may be tested
Ability to understand and use Internet, good knowledge of local market pricing customs and practices.

Three years of administrative experience in accounting, contracting or procurement is required.
FOR TRAINING GRADE FSN-06 (trainees)
Two years of administrative experience in accounting, contracting or procurement is required.
Candidates can opt to be considered for just one or both grades, depending on their experience and preference.
EDUCATION Requirements:Completion of High School is required.

At this large post, performs market research for the procurement of a variety of commodities to include all types of services and technical components. Provides written and verbal communication with high-level diplomats and section heads, ICASS subscribers, smaller agencies at Post regarding local and international purchase order actions. On a daily basis, processes procurement actions in accordance with Simplified Acquisitions policy. Places orders with agency headquarters, GSA contracts, RPSO Frankfurt, ELSO, Department of State contracts for household furnishings, overseas companies with established contacts, as well as a variety of local vendors.
