Mechanical Design Engineer

• University Degree (Mechanical Engineering);
• More than 3 years of professional experience in the design of operating equipment;
• Profound knowledge of modern production technology and design systems;
• Very good knowledge of CAD processes and handling 3D programmes;
• Experience with Solid Works desirable;
• Practical knowledge of automation technology is an advantage;
• Independent, structured way of working and process-orientated thinking;
• Confident communication at all levels of collaboration;
• Good verbal and written communication skills;
• Advanced written & spoken English; German is a plus.

• Planning and design of assembly lines for battery packs and power tools;
• Design of equipment, devices and entire assembly lines;
• Independent conception, development and construction of automated production equipment with high technical requirements for the STIHL Group worldwide;
• Project management for projects with a technical focus, taking into account quality, costs and timelines;
• Preparation of individual part and assembly drawings, taking into account current industry and internal company standards, and creation of parts lists;
• Responsibility for the production of individual parts and procurement of components;
• Monitoring the assembly of equipment and implementing it in production;
• Process improvement of existing systems and optimisation of series processes;
• Contact person as a technology expert for assembly systems;
• Analysis of new manufacturing processes to rationalise and solve technical tasks;
• Continuous further development of production technologies and expansion of digitalisation.
