We are looking for an experienced HSE Specialist to independently manage, lead, and continuously improve HSE activities at site level in Romania. This is an autonomous role with full ownership of legal compliance, risk management, and HSE management systems in a highly regulated, high-risk Oil & Gas environment.
The role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with Romanian legislation, NOV global HSE standards, and international certifications (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001), while supporting safe, efficient, and sustainable operations. Acting as the primary local HSE authority, the HSE Specialist works closely with operational teams, management, and regulatory bodies to protect people, assets, and the environment, and to ensure business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
•
•Adhere to NOV HSE related programs, policies, and procedures and recommend changes where necessary
•Assist the business units and local facilities to achieve annual HSE Objectives and targets
•Independently manage HSE management systems in line with NOV global standards and Romanian legislation.
•Ensure full compliance with occupational safety, fire safety, environmental and waste management legal requirements, including permits, registers, audits and mandatory reporting to authorities.
•Manage occupational health provisions, emergency response, and industrial hygiene surveys as per local legislation
•Act as the local point of contact for internal/external audits/inspections and regulatory bodies.
•Lead incident investigations, risk assessments, corrective actions and emergency preparedness.
•Develop, implement and deliver HSE training, inductions and awareness programs.
•Monitor HSE KPIs, ESG data reporting and support management with HSE documentation and tenders.
