Role Overview

The Global Head of Medical Operations provides strategic and operational leadership across the organization’s medical services, including shoreside clinics, telemedicine operations, and onboard medical teams.
The role ensures high standards of clinical governance, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and financial sustainability.

The Global Head of Medical Operations shall ensure consistent governance, regulatory compliance, quality standards, and financial performance in alignment with the HMH’s global strategy.

Requirements

• English Proficiency
• Academic degree required; Medical Degree (MD) preferred
• Senior leadership experience in healthcare operations
• Experience in maritime medical or telemedicine environments is an advantage
• Strong understanding of healthcare governance and compliance standards
• Experience in budgeting and financial oversight
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to lead geographically dispersed teams
• Availability and willingness to travel extensively

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee global medical operations (clinic, telemedicine, shipboard)
• Ensure clinical quality, patient safety, and compliance with healthcare and maritime regulations
• Monitor medical performance indicators and implement corrective actions
• Drive continuous process improvement and operational efficiency
• Oversee end-to-end medical inventory (forecasting, procurement, distribution)
• Oversee the supplier contracts to ensure cost efficiency and service quality
• Develop and monitor the annual medical operations budget
• Optimize cost structures and reduce medical case management expenses
• Lead, mentor, and develop multicultural medical teams
• Support strategic partnerships and business growth initiatives.
