Financial Assistant

The U.S. Mission in Bucharest, Romania is looking for qualified candidates for the Financial Assistant position.

Position requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
Two years of progressively responsible work in accounting, finance, administration, business, or business-related function is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
The incumbent must be thoroughly familiar with the legal requirements for a proper receipt under Romanian law.
LANGUAGE:
Good working knowledge of English and Romanian - speaking/reading & writing. This may be tested.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to function independently when dealing with agency representatives, employees, and managers is required. Must be able to monitor and manage multiple simultaneously. Must have excellent organization skills and excellent customer service skills. Must have intermediate computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).

Duties include, but are not limited to:
(1) Prepare, correct and submit the official Embassy VAT and fuel excise tax claims;
(2) Review, correct and submit the personal VAT and fuel excise claims for the Embassy's direct hire employees;
(3) Audit and process medical benefit claims for the Locally Employed Staff;
(4) Manage Embassy accounts receivable and billing system to include monthly ORE BOCs;
(5) Act as Post's only alternate class B cashier and
(6) Apply FAM, FAH, Department and Embassy guidelines as appropriate.
