THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Finance Director to lead the full finance and accounting function — covering accounting, controlling, and reporting — while acting as a key strategic partner to the executive team. This is a hands-on leadership role within a company undergoing active financial and operational transformation.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Experience & Education

• 15+ years in finance, with a strong track record in controlling, reporting, and team leadership
• Background in manufacturing or FMCG is essential
• Degree in Economics or Finance; ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent Controlling certification is a strong advantage

Technical Skills

• Solid command of IFRS and Romanian accounting standards
• Hands-on SAP experience (FI/CO); familiarity with planning tools such as Anaplan, Cognos, or Power BI
• Advanced Excel; strong financial modeling capability
• Knowledge of excise duty frameworks and Romanian fiscal compliance is a plus

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee end-to-end accounting operations — AP, AR, general ledger, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of all statutory financial statements in accordance with Romanian GAAP and IFRS
• Manage the relationship with external auditors; coordinate audit cycles and address findings proactively
• Supervise e-invoicing compliance and SAF-T reporting obligations
• Own the month-end closing cycle; deliver timely, accurate management reporting to senior leadership and the Supervisory Board
• Manage Group Reporting packages (P&L, Balance Sheet, CAPEX, Cash Flow)
• Drive continuous improvement in reporting accuracy and closing timelines
• Lead the annual budget process and quarterly reforecast cycles across all departments
• Deliver scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling to support strategic decisions
• Partner with commercial and operations teams to track and improve profitability by channel, customer, and product
• Ensure compliance with ANAF requirements — VAT, corporate income tax, excise duties, and minimum turnover tax
• Proactively manage fiscal risk in coordination with external legal and tax advisors
• Maintain audit readiness at all times; reduce findings through robust internal controls
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals across accounting, controlling, treasury, and reporting
• Build a high-performance culture focused on accuracy, ownership, and delivery
