Key Performance Indicators
Success in this role will be measured through:
• Debtor days / DSO performance.
• Percentage of overdue debt collected within target timeframe.
• Accuracy of account reconciliations and cash allocation.
• Timely resolution of invoice and payment disputes.
• Quality of reporting, commentary, and audit trail documentation.
• Strong communication and service levels with internal and external stakeholders.

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our Finance function in Romania, supporting two group trading entities. This role will focus on managing accounts receivable activity, supporting timely debt collection, maintaining accurate customer accounts, resolving payment queries, and improving visibility over aged debt and cash collection performance.
The role will work closely with finance, sales, customer service, and operational stakeholders across Ireland and the UK. The successful candidate will need to balance priorities across both entities, applying a structured, professional, and commercially aware approach.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
• Manage credit control and accounts receivable activity across both entities.
• Chase overdue balances professionally by email and telephone.
• Monitor aged debt reports and follow up on outstanding customer balances.
• Maintain accurate customer account records and receivable balances.
• Allocate incoming cash receipts and support customer account reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve invoice disputes, short payments, deductions, and account discrepancies.
• Liaise with finance, sales, customer service, and operations teams to resolve queries promptly.
• Escalate high-risk or problematic accounts where appropriate.
• Support credit checks, payment history reviews, and new customer account set-up processes.
• Produce weekly and monthly aged debt updates, including commentary on key risks and collection progress.
• Support cash flow forecasting by providing expected receipt updates.
• Assist with month-end activities, ledger reconciliations, and reporting deadlines.
• Maintain clear audit trails and documentation for collection activity.
• Identify recurring causes of payment delays and suggest process improvements.
