WWF-Romania is seeking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic
(full-time, based in WWF Romania’s offices:
Bucharest, Brasov, Baia Mare or Resita or within the areas surrounding WWF offices
and in close relationship with Bear Orphanage)
The Communications Officer contributes to the WWF mission in general and to the objectives of the WWF-Romania by being directly responsible with the development and practical implementation of the Bear Orphanage communications.
The job position will be based in one of the WWF Romania’s offices - Bucharest, Brasov, Baia Mare or Resita or within the areas surrounding WWF offices and in close relationship with Bear Orphanage located in Harghita County, Hasmas mountains.
The job position will directly report to External Communications Expert and it will imply almost 50% of the working time travelling and relocation to the Bears Orphanage settlement.
Your duties will include:
Develops a communication strategy for the Bear Orphanage , including a strategic analysis of key stakeholders and setting of clear goals, objectives and deliverables of this strategy;
Ensures the delivery of the communication strategy through a communication Action Plan, by carrying out the daily communication activities and tools within a pre-set timeline, in alignment with the external communications and other projects communications strategy and calendar;
Designs and permanently updates relevant information on www.wwf.ro and project website about the Orphanage and bear species as a priority wildlife conservation species for WWF;
Creates different online and offline communications materials such as but not limited to: videos,
live feeds, instant communications, articles, interviews, press releases and different project
Regularly creates video content for about the Bear Orphanage and the species involved
Creates and manages a coherent narrative for the orphanage and builds the story about the
brown bear as a species
Responsible for planning and organizing communication/promotion/media events at local and
national level within the designated project and also supports other Communication Department
team members in their initiatives when required;
Works in close collaboration with partners and service providers such as advertising agencies,
publishing houses in order to produce the necessary materials;
Ensures daily media monitoring for the Orphanage and bear species (based on media monitoring
We expect from you:

University degree in relevant academic discipline as communications, media or journalism
Relevant experience - at least 3 years in a similar position
A natural communicator, brand builder and storyteller
Ambition, energy and drive, with a commitment to making a difference. A team player,
committed to building a strong team and sharing success with colleagues.
Strong writing skills. Advanced design skills, photo and video editing. Ability to collect, analyze
and transmit information.
Ability to work with stakeholders having different/conflictual interests on the same issue
Ability to work with the press.
Ability to meet deadlines strictly. Good networking and organizing skills
Proficiency in Romanian and/or in English, oral and written. Hungarian is a plus.
Commitment to WWF’s mission and priorities.
Experience with the issues and priorities of WWF, including e.g. environment and nature
conservation, and work for an environmental organisation is an advantage but not a necessity
Ability to work in an international environment and within a multi-cultural team
