Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Cash Applications, Accounts Receivable, or a similar Finance role.
- Hands-on experience with cash posting, payment processing, and reconciliation activities.
- Experience working with banking platforms, automated cash application tools, and ERP systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and Power Query.
- Ability to investigate and resolve payment discrepancies efficiently and accurately.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cash application automation tools.
- Exposure to Order-to-Cash (O2C) or Accounts Receivable processes.
- Experience working in a shared services or multinational environment.
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, or similar platforms.
Job Description
As a Cash Applications Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely application of customer payments while supporting the integrity of the Accounts Receivable process. You will work closely with customers, Credit, Collections, and Finance teams to resolve payment discrepancies, manage exceptions, and maintain accurate financial records.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys problem-solving, working with financial data, and contributing to operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and apply customer payments accurately and within established deadlines.
- Ensure same-day posting and reconciliation of payment transactions, including wire transfers, lockbox payments, and ACH transactions.
- Investigate and resolve unapplied, unidentified, or misallocated payments.
- Manage exception items requiring research, customer communication, and manual application.
- Process customer credit card payment requests and related transactions.
- Collaborate with customers, Credit Analysts, Collections, and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues.
- Monitor and manage shared team mailboxes, ensuring timely resolution of cash application inquiries.
- Prepare and submit customer refund requests when required.
- Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to the efficiency of cash application operations.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures.
