About the Role
The Carrier Relations & Account Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of carrier partnerships — from sourcing and negotiating with new carriers to maintaining strong relationships with existing partners.
This role ensures optimal routing, cost efficiency, service quality, and compliance across global voice networks. The ideal candidate combines a solid technical understanding of VoIP routing with strong commercial skills and effective communication.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new voice and SMS carriers (Tier 1 & Tier 2).
Negotiate interconnection agreements, rates, and SLAs to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
Manage the full carrier lifecycle — onboarding, routing setup, quality monitoring, and billing reconciliation.
Analyze carrier performance metrics (ASR, ACD, PDD, MOS) and take proactive measures to improve call quality.
Optimize least-cost routing (LCR) and monitor traffic profitability with the technical team.
Coordinate with NOC and support teams to resolve routing or latency issues.
Review and validate rate sheets, invoices, and CDRs with the billing department.
Track and report on traffic trends, costs, and carrier performance.
Identify new business opportunities and help expand carrier coverage in new regions.
Stay updated on telecom market trends, regulations, and emerging VoIP technologies

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Business, or a related field.
Proven negotiation and contract management experience.
Strong analytical and Excel/reporting skills.
Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
Ability to work independently, manage multiple carrier relationships, and prioritize effectively.
Preferred Skills
Experience with A–Z rate management, LCR configuration, or softswitch platforms (PortaOne, Sippy, FreeSWITCH, etc.).
Understanding of fraud prevention, traffic monitoring, and quality control systems.
Experience with both voice and SMS interconnections.
Familiarity with telecom billing and reconciliation processes.
1-3 years of experience in carrier relations, account management, or wholesale VoIP operations.
Strong knowledge of SIP, VoIP routing, and interconnection principles.
