Accountant - AURORA ROMANIA

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team in Romania. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of Romanian accounting standards and regulations, coupled with a strategic approach to financial management.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional accounting qualifications (e.g., CECCAR, CAFR) is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior role within the Romanian market.
• Profound knowledge of Romanian accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in Romanian and English.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.

Key Responsibilities:
• Recording purchase invoices (EU and import operations), taxes related to Custom and cost of goods calculation;
• Performing accounting entries related to fixed assets (initial recognition, depreciation, disposal, etc.);
• Recording general expense/income invoices;
• General accounting transactions (salaries, provisions, prepaid expense/income, accruals, reevaluation, inventories etc);
• Recording expense reports for employees and performing reconciliation for month end; daily bookkeeping related to cash register and bank statements;
• Reconcile accounts receivable/payables ledger to ensure accuracy; investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues in customer/vendors accounts;
• Participating in the preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual tax declarations , NBR, Intrastat declaration;
• Responsible for the proper archiving of all the documents;
• Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes;
• Offering support and participating in audit activities, controls of state authorities etc.;
• Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including account reconciliation and analysis.
• Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and tax laws in Romania, assessing the impact on the company and implementing necessary changes in processes.
• Mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
