The role works closely with Finance stakeholders, HRIS and IT teams, and external delivery or AMS partners to translate business requirements into effective, scalable system solutions. With a focus on platform stability, continuous improvement, and best‑practice configuration, the role holder supports enhancements, integrations, reporting, and governance activities while maintaining stakeholder confidence and contributing to the long‑term Workday Financials roadmap.
Experience Required:
5–8 years in Finance/Accounting, with financial systems support/implementation experience, preferably supported by finance qualifications (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
Ideally 2–3+ years supporting Workday Financials (or similar ERP) in a functional role; ERP implementation/upgrade experience is a plus. Team leadership (people or project) is required. Internal candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge of Azets finance operations and systems aptitude.

- Act as an internal subject matter expert for Workday Financials, supporting both day‑to‑day operations and ongoing system enhancements across a live production environment
- Own and coordinate Workday Financials activities across business‑as‑usual support, AMS engagement management, and project delivery initiatives
- Translate finance business requirements into effective and scalable Workday Financials solutions, working closely with functional stakeholders and delivery partners
- Lead or support internal workshops and requirements‑gathering sessions to understand finance processes and system improvement needs
- Configure and maintain core Workday Financials modules in line with organisational standards and Workday leading practices, ensuring solutions remain supportable and compliant
- Drive continuous improvement across the Workday Financials platform, proactively identifying optimisation opportunities beyond reactive issue resolution
- Partner with Integration and Reporting teams, as well as external vendors where applicable, to ensure end‑to‑end solution integrity and data accuracy
- Provide functional guidance and knowledge support to finance users, HRIS colleagues, and junior team members, acting as a trusted point of escalation
- Build strong relationships with finance stakeholders, especially super users, supporting confidence in the system through clear communication, prioritisation, and delivery transparency
- Support post go‑live optimisation, regulatory changes, enhancements, and input into the longer‑term Workday Financials roadmap
- Contribute to internal standards, documentation, governance processes, and best practices to support the maturity and sustainability of the Workday Financials environment
Required Skills & Capabilities:
- Workday Financials Functional Capability
- Strong functional understanding of core Workday Financials modules (e.g. GL, AP, AR, Assets, Banking, Expenses)
- Ability to interpret finance requirements and translate them into effective Workday configuration decisions
- Understanding of Workday’s configuration model, including business processes, validations, and controls
- Awareness of how finance configuration choices impact upstream and downstream processes
- Capability to act as a trusted internal point of ownership for the Workday Financials platform
- Ability to proactively identify system improvement and optimisation opportunities
- Strong understanding of maintaining a supportable, scalable Workday configuration over time
- Appreciation of governance, change management, and release management principles in a live tenant
- Ability to work with reporting teams to define finance reporting requirements and validate outputs
- Strong data literacy, including interpreting financial data and assessing output accuracy
- Awareness of data dependencies across Workday Financials, integrations, and reporting layers
Integration & End‑to‑End Thinking
- Ability to collaborate with integration and technical teams to support end‑to‑end financial processes
- Understanding of how Workday Financials interacts with other Workday modules and external systems
- Confidence in validating integration outcomes and finance data flows
