Accountabilities:
- Piping stress analysis, (including: flexibility analysis, dynamic analysis – seismic and/or waterhammer loads –, fatigue analysis)
- Pipe support stress analysis (linear type/ plate type supports, welded / bolted connections, anchorage, local stress analysis)
- Stress analysis for mechanical equipment and components (including dynamic loads – seismic and/or vibrations)
- Stress analysis for steel structures
- Fitness for Service studies for piping, pipe fittings and pressure vessels
Descrierea jobului
- Perform stress analysis, hand calculations, document results in calculation notes, qualify piping/equipment/structures, primarily in support of plant modification projects;
- Understand and assess client problems and determine appropriate approach solution;
- Maintain the required technical quality of work;
- Coordinate with the Lead Engineer and all other relevant technical personnel;
- Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to the Project Manager or Lead Mechanical Engineer;
- Attend and contribute in team and project meetings as required;
- Stay updated with developments within the field of expertise;
- Carry out work in accordance with Kinectrics Nuclear Romania and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
Skills / Knowledge required (Senior levels):
- (minimum) Bachelor Degree in appropriate engineering subject;
- Stress analysis/ piping stress experience – min. 5 year experience (please do not apply if you don’t comply with this requirement);
- Experience in finite element analysis codes such as ANSYS (APDL and/or Workbench), ABAQUS, LSDYNA, GT-STRUDL, FEMAP and NASTRAN;
- Experience in piping analysis codes such as CAESAR II, AutoPIPE and PIPESTRESS;
- Ability to meet deadlines and achieve targeted results whilst working within assigned budget;
- Proven track record in engineering design and analysis in power generation and similar industrial facilities;
- Ability to perform hand calculations;
- Knowledge of use of applicable codes and standards such as ASME B&PVC Section III, ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.1, AISC N690;
- Ability to learn new technical concepts and to work under various technical standards;
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary / international teams and demonstrate work and moral ethics;
- Good communication skills;
- English fluency is a must;
- The following will be considered as an advantage :
o Specialization or training courses in stress analysis (including software use);
o Proficiency in using of ANSYS / AUTOPIPE / PIPESTRESS is highly appreciated;
o Experience in performing condition assessments of mechanical equipment;
The following will be considered as important differentiators:
o Experience in engineering design and analysis in nuclear power generation;
o Understanding and experience with CANDU nuclear systems;
o Knowledge of the Canadian/US codes and standards;
o Participation from the design phase through the final construction close-out for power plants.
