Specialist Java Developer

Description:

We are building a microservices team and are looking for an intermediate Java developer to contribute to our efforts in creating scalable, efficient, and secure backend systems. You will collaborate closely with other developers, including senior engineers who will provide mentorship, while also contributing your own expertise to support junior team members.

Our entire infrastructure is hosted in AWS Public Cloud, and our microservice layer is deployed using Kubernetes, with CI/CD pipelines and repositories managed through GitLab. We follow the Agile Scrum methodology, adapting to waterfall practices in rare cases where the project scope demands it.

This role offers the opportunity to work on modern technologies in a collaborative environment, where your contributions will directly shape the success of the team.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain microservices using Java and Spring Boot to meet business and technical requirements

• Implement, test, and deploy new features leveraging GitLab CI/CD pipelines. Utilize GitLab CI/CD for version control and continuous integration/deployment processes

• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable Java code, adhering to best practices and coding standards

• Implementation and configuration of communication services between microservices using REST APIs

• Work within a cross disciplined team, collaborating daily with the Product Owner, Business Users, Functional Analysts, DevOps Engineers, Data Engineers, Software Developers

• Performing code reviews and providing constructive feedback for fixes and improvements.

• Contribute to the architecture and design of the system, ensuring scalability and maintainability

• Mentoring for junior colleagues on microservices tech stack

• Participate actively and proactively in all project overviews and team meetings.

Tech skill set Requirements:

• 3 years of experience in Java with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming

• Experience with Spring Boot and related modules: Spring Data, Spring Security, and Hibernate.

• Hands-on experience in building and deploying RESTful APIs and working with microservices architecture.

• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL

• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

Is a plus:

• Experience with AWS Secret Manager

• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Linux OS

• Nginx and/or HAproxy (load balancing)
