Key qualities and experience
- Experience: 4+ years of professional frontend development with 2+ years focused on e-commerce.
- Expert-level proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Strong experience with modern frameworks: React, Vue.js, Angular, or Svelte.
- Extensive hands-on with major e-commerce platforms:
- WooCommerce development and customisation
- Shopify theme development and Liquid templating
- Magento frontend development
- Exceptional eye for UI design and user experience; able to deliver pixel-perfect implementations.
- Deep understanding of e-commerce user flows: product discovery, cart management, checkout processes, and post-purchase experiences.
- Experience with responsive, mobile-first development.
- Proficiency with CSS preprocessors (Sass/SCSS) and modern CSS frameworks (Tailwind CSS preferred).
- Knowledge of performance optimisation techniques for e-commerce sites.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL for product data integration.
- Understanding of SEO best practices for e-commerce websites.
- Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to implement complex UI interactions.

In this role, you will architect and build sophisticated e-commerce frontend solutions with a relentless focus on performance, conversion optimisation, and seamless user experiences across platforms and devices. You will lead UI/UX implementation with meticulous attention to visual details, interactions, and micro-animations, while collaborating closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers.
Responsibilities

Role details
- Job type: Full-Time / Contract.
- Contract: Minimum 12-month engagement, with the possibility of extension based on performance and client needs.
- Location: Hybrid (Bucharest / Remote). This is a true remote position; however, we prefer candidates based in or near Bucharest to enable occasional in-person meetings (for example, quarterly). We will also consider qualified applicants from other parts of Romania and from Eastern European countries.
