Contract Chief - Infrastructure Projects

The Contract Chief will manage all contractual aspects of a highway project in Romania, with a strong focus on large-scale infrastructure contracts. The role requires close cooperation with technical, site, and finance teams and direct interaction with the Employer and subcontractors.


Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Civil Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in contract management for large-scale infrastructure projects, such as highways, bridges, tunnels, or similar transport works
• Strong experience with FIDIC contracts and at least one of the following: Lump Sum Turnkey, EPC, or PPP contracts
• Previous work on road or motorway projects represents a strong advantage
• Strong understanding of claims, variations, extensions of time, and contractual correspondence
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Good command of MS Office; SAP knowledge represents an advantage
• Availability for travel within Romania and readiness for intensive project conditions
• Strong communication, negotiation, and coordination skills

Main Responsibilities
• Manage the main contract with the Employer and control all contractual actions and related documentation
• Prepare, review, negotiate, and finalize subcontractor and supplier agreements
• Prepare and follow up variations, claims, and contractual correspondence in line with FIDIC and company procedures
• Coordinate with project, technical, planning, and financial teams to ensure contract compliance across the project
• Monitor risks and propose contractual actions for infrastructure-related issues (delays, changes, disruptions)
• Follow up project-related insurances, guarantees, and approvals required under the contract
• Support management during meetings with the Employer and authorities on contractual and commercial topics
