Chief Accountant with SAP

• University degree in Economics, with at least 5–7 years of experience in accounting, out of which at least 2–3 years in a leadership position.
• CECCAR membership – mandatory.
• Strong experience with SAP and MS Excel.
• Solid knowledge of taxation and local & international accounting regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Proactive and result-oriented attitude.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

The Chief Accountant is responsible for leading and overseeing the company’s financial accounting activities, ensuring compliance with Romanian accounting regulations and international standards. The role involves preparing and validating financial statements and tax returns, monitoring the accuracy of all accounting records, and coordinating the month-end and year-end closing processes. The Chief Accountant manages relationships with tax authorities, auditors, and banks, and provides financial expertise to support strategic business decisions. Additionally, the role includes supervising and developing the accounting team, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and professional growth across all financial operations.

Job Description:

• Coordinate and supervise the entire financial-accounting department.
• Ensure proper organization and management of accounting in accordance with Romanian legislation and applicable international standards.
• Prepare and validate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Review and approve tax returns (D100, D300, D390, D394, AFM, BNR, INS, etc.).
• Monitor the accuracy of accounting records and compliance with reporting deadlines.
• Manage relations with tax authorities, internal and external auditors, banks, and other institutions.
• Oversee the month-end closing process and provide reports to company management.
• Provide expertise and support in strategic decision-making regarding financial and tax matters.
• Lead and develop the accounting team, ensuring training and professional support.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.
