PATENT ENGINEER (with English / Chinese)

Are you a mechanical / electrical engineer with a curiosity for law and legal matters? We are looking for a Patent Engineer with an academic background in mechanical or electrical engineering. Objective of the role:

Being a patent engineer means being at the heart of innovation and your primary mission is to support our clients in protecting and promoting their innovations. You work within a team of intellectual property experts and collaborate with experienced lawyers, patent attorneys, and engineers.

Responsibilities:

• You analyze technical documents provided by clients to understand the proposed innovations;
• Based on technical and legal analyses, you draft patent applications, ensuring the legal and technical soundness of the text;
• You organize meetings with inventors to refine your understanding of inventions and adapt the protection strategy;
• You stay informed of technological developments and new case law in intellectual property matters;
• You will attend training courses to deepen your knowledge of patent law and prepare for the Industrial Property Attorney (IPA) exam and/or the EQE (European Qualifying Examination);
• You will regularly interact with your colleagues to discuss complex cases and benefit from their expertise.

Experience required:

• Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Mechanics or Electronics;
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering;
• R&D experience is a plus;
• English - advanced level;
• Chinese - it's nice to have.
