• Support the development and optimization of product formulations and evaluate theoretical formulations for new products.
• Calculate active ingredient concentrations and appropriate overages.
• Support the selection of excipients and design suitable formulation matrices based on product requirements and ingredient properties.
• Support the evaluation of raw material compatibility, technical feasibility and potential formulation risks.
• Adapt formulations according to customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
• Develop formulations for soft gelatin capsules and/or gummy products.
• Select and evaluate suitable gelatin or gummy base recipes, colors and other formulation
• Evaluate technical feasibility of new product requests received from Sales and other internal stakeholders.
• Review available raw materials and identify the need for new ingredients or alternative sources
• Perform laboratory feasibility trials, especially for new or technically challenging formulations
• Calculate formulation costs and support the preparation of technical input required for quotations
• Collaborating with Sales in the technical evaluation of customer requests

• University degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering Biochemical Engineering, Food Engineering/Technology or Pharmacy or a related scientific field.
• Basic understanding of formulation principles and/or manufacturing with the ability to understand both formulation principles and manufacturing processes is preferred.
• Previous Internships, academic projects, laboratory work and thesis projects related to R&D formulation, product development or manufacturing.
• Strong MS Office skills, advanced English (written/spoken English language – advanced level (written and spoken)
• Ability to learn quicky and adapt to new situations.
• Open minded with flexible thinking and good communication
• Recent graduates and young professional are encouraged to apply

• Previous experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
• Previous experience in R&D, Product Development, Formulation, Technology or Technical Development is preferred.
• Previous experience in the pharmaceutical, food supplement, nutraceutical or food industry represents an advantage.
• Previous experience with laboratory trials, industrial processes, scale-up or technology transfer is an advantage.
• Previous experience in softgel or gummy technologies is an advantage but should not be considered mandatory.
• Knowledge of GMP, BRC, HACCP and/or ISO standards.
• Experience with food supplements or nutraceutical products.
• Experience with formulation of complex products.
• Experience with gelatin, pectin, syrups, functional ingredients or gelled/confectionery products.
• Experience in scale-up, industrial trials or technology transfer.
