We are looking for an experienced Global QHSE Manager to join an established international manufacturing company and take a key leadership role in shaping Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental excellence across its global operations.
The company has a strong engineering and manufacturing heritage and operates internationally, with production facilities across Romania, Denmark, China, the UK and the US, supported by dedicated R&D capabilities.
Based in the Brașov area and reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will have overarching responsibility for defining, standardizing and implementing the global QHSE framework across all operational locations.
This is an opportunity for a senior professional who can combine technical QHSE expertise with leadership, influence and change management in an international manufacturing environment.
🔎 What we are looking for
We are interested in meeting an accomplished QHSE professional who combines a strong manufacturing background with the ability to operate effectively across different cultures, functions and geographies.
The ideal profile brings:
✔ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management, Quality Management or a related technical discipline.
✔ 7–10+ years of progressive QHSE leadership experience within an international manufacturing environment, ideally in automotive, metals, heavy machinery, marine or HVAC.
✔ Lead Auditor expertise/certification in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
✔ Experience with Achilles supplier accreditation and ASME certification, preferably including ASME Section VIII Division 1 U certification.
✔ Strong command of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA, SPC and PPAP.
✔ Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
✔ Strong change-management capabilities and a pragmatic, decisive leadership style.
✔ Fluent professional English.
✔ Availability for approximately 20–30% international travel.
✔ Availability to be based in or relocate to the Brașov area.
Job Description
🔹 Design, implement and maintain unified Quality Management Systems (QMS) across global manufacturing locations.
🔹 Drive structured problem-solving and permanent corrective actions using 8D, 5-Why and Fishbone methodologies.
🔹 Lead customer/OEM quality audits and global supplier quality assessments.
🔹 Partner with R&D and Engineering to establish QA/QC standards for manufacturing processes, including automated welding, tube expanding and pressure testing.
🔹 Develop a proactive Zero-Harm culture, strengthening near-miss reporting, hazard identification and safety ownership.
🔹 Standardize global HSE policies, machinery safeguards, chemical handling protocols and risk assessment methodologies.
🔹 Oversee investigations of critical incidents and implement effective containment and corrective actions.
🔹 Maintain and further develop ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications across international operations.
🔹 Ensure compliance with relevant European and international environmental regulations, including REACH/RoHS.
🔹 Lead, mentor and empower site-level QHSE Managers, Coordinators and Engineers.
🔹 Define, monitor and report global QHSE KPIs to Executive Management.
