Full Stack Web Developer

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for Full Stack Developers with a motivation to scale and improve our platform while we expand our services from Germany to whole Europe.

A formal professional qualification or degree is not essential, but you need at least two years of practical experience as a web developer.

You should be able to communicate in English on work-related topics and have practical experience with:
- NodeJS
- Linux Server
- MongoDB
- Github
- (ideally) WebRTC

You should enjoy working independently and be well organised in order to work productively in small teams without a lot of administrative overhead.

Even though it's rare: If there are major problems with the system, we expect you to give your full commitment until the problem is solved. This includes evenings and weekends.
In return, you can always organise your working hours freely when the system is running normally.

About the job:

Our proctoring platform operates 24/7 and at peak times we process around 3,000 video streams simultaneously.
Your job is to increase that capacity and remove any infrastructure bottlenecks.

The service is used by a wide variety of participants who take part in very different examinations. Your job is to make the participation process and UI as easy and convenient as possible for every participant.

We currently work with a team of around 70 human proctors, who monitor the participants during their exams and flag suspicios actions. Your job is to make their work as productive as possible and to introduce AI features and automations when possible.

Our platform consists mainly of web user interfaces, mobile apps, REST APIs, load managers, a WebRTC video streaming backend and a chat system, all of which work together to enable the process of online examinations.
Your job is to keep track of these different repositories and understand which service performs which task in combination with the others.
