We’re looking for a confident and ambitious individual to join our team as a dispatcher for several U.S. transportation companies. Our headquarters is located in Iași and the job will require you to work from the office.

Please note: to qualify for this position, you’ll need to be willing to work weekdays from 14:00 to 22:30. We know, it’s not the easiest thing to do, but the perks and benefits we offer will more than make up for it. We’ll tell you about them in just a bit ;)

Who we are Dispatch-IT is a Romanian start-up that services Austin-based trucking and brokerage companies. We provide dispatching, accounting, HR and safety services. We’ve grown a great deal since we started our journey and are now looking to reach new heights of performance and profitability.

The ideal candidate

• Advanced English level (min. B2), both verbal and written
• Great communication skills, charisma, and the ability to handle stressful encounters with ease
• Great negotiation skills
• Good interpersonal abilities
• Flexibility and adaptability
• Logical thinking, memory, analysis, and synthesis abilities
• Great at multitasking
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
• Nice to have: know your way around a load board (DAT, Truckstop, Trucker Path, etc.)
• Enthusiastic and collaborative

What you’ll be doing

• Organize and plan shipments for our clients
• Negotiate shipment rates with brokers and clients, advocate on behalf of our drivers
• Constantly communicate with drivers and ensure they have all the information they need to deliver the loads safely and on time
• Track the shipments and update brokers on any delays, service failures, or any other issues that may arise
• Successfully handle operations for multiple drivers at once
• Prioritize tasks according to their level of urgency
• Own the entire dispatching process - effectively take charge of ensuring all business objectives are met
• Make sure that all shipment documentation is received and validated within the agreed time frame
• Ensure all deadlines are met
• Come up with ideas and suggestions to improve existing processes
• Work well within a team environment and support your colleagues to reach team objectives

Expectations for the first 30 days

• Watch and learn from a senior colleague all the tasks that you’ll be doing by observing him at work for 1 or 2 weeks
• Read and get familiar with all the procedures and software that we use for completing our day-to-day role
• Start doing tasks, one by one, under the guidance of a senior colleague

Expectations for the first 60 days

• Start being independent in completing your tasks
• Master basic knowledge of our procedures
• Gradually increase the speed of fulfillment your tasks, after getting familiar with them

Expectations for the first 90 days

• Be fully independent in completing your tasks
• Memorize procedures and apply them accordingly in completing your tasks
• Able to take care of at least 1 driver and communicate efficiently with all parties involved
