Specific conditions:

•Degree in veterinary medicines or biomedical science of four years plus 15 years since graduation

or

•Degree of three years plus 16 years since graduation

Additional eligibility (AD11 and above):

•Temporary staff under Article 2(f); Article 9 GIPs applies for inter agency publication
•Grade AD12, AD13 or AD14, or AD11 with two years seniority at EMA
•At least two years middle management experience in EU Institutions or Agencies
•Required qualifications as stated

You will also need Experience:

•At least seven years management experience, including five leading large teams in European or international settings
•Experience working in multinational environments
•Familiarity with financial and budget management, organisational performance, integrated planning, HR systems, communication and change
•Proven strategic negotiation experience with multiple stakeholders Skills and knowledge
•Solid knowledge of veterinary or biomedical science, especially veterinary medicinal products
•Knowledge of EU policies and pharmaceutical legislation
•Understanding of the European Medicines Regulatory Network

Descrierea jobului

The Agency is looking to recruit a Head of the Veterinary Medicines Division. The Head of Division is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the business of Division, including the authorisation, supervision and maintenance of veterinary medicinal products, assuring the safety of animals, users, the environment and consumers of products of animal origin, and ensuring that legal deadlines for all procedures are observed.

In this role, you will:

•Work closely with and report to the Executive Director
•Shape and articulate the organisational vision and inspire teams to deliver results tied to business and people goals
•Contribute to the collective leadership of the Agency and drive overall strategy as a member of the Executive Board
•Translate strategic objectives into concrete plans for the Division and its entities
•Advise the Management Board on Division matters and escalate significant issues with appropriate urgency
•Lead change initiatives, ensure transparent communication and maintain strong staff engagement
•Ensure effective HR processes so staff are motivated, professional and high performing
•Promote Agency values and a positive culture focused on value creation
•Act as Authorising Officer when required and ensure sound financial stewardship
•Manage human and financial resources to achieve strategic and annual objectives within constraints
•Coach and develop Heads of Department and monitor their performance
•Allocate resources to maximise organisational value and impact
•Build strong internal and external relationships and represent the Agency at European and international level

Specific tasks and responsibilities:

•Set the strategic direction for the Veterinary Medicines Division to protect animal and public health
•Ensure effective and efficient procedures for authorisation, supervision and maintenance of veterinary medicinal products
•Promote One Health and AMR priorities, support innovation and availability of veterinary medicines and encourage digital technologies
•Foster cooperation with European institutions and bodies such as the European Commission, HMA V, EFSA, ECHA and ECDC
•Ensure effective input from the Division and scientific committees into European and international work including Codex Alimentarius, WOAH and VICH, and support collaboration with international regulators and stakeholders
•Meaningful work contributing to protecting the health of every individual and animal in Europe within multinational, multidisciplinary team
