Candidatul Ideal
We're looking for an experienced data engineer with meticulous attention to detail, a passion for programming, data and analytics and a talent to shape great reports into existence. This means you’ll not only perform the standard duties of a data engineer, but also use your insights about how visualizations should look like for maximum clarity and impact and build them out. You’ll work with our Growth team, our Product and our Engineering teams to get the most out of those visualizations, maintain them and interpret them to improve the business KPIs.

Must have experience
- 3+ years of experience in data warehousing / data lakes (ideally in Google BigQuery, but any other solution is fine);
- 3+ years of experience working with APIs from payment providers, web analytics tools, product analytics tools and databases directly;
- 3+ years of experience with SQL, since there are a lot of databases to query in our own systems;
- Proven experience building data visualizations, reports and dashboards;
- Proven expertise in building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines;
- Performed data modeling data integrity checks to ensure the highest standards of data quality and consistency;
- Strong communication and analytical skills are probably the most important „soft skills” we’ll be looking for. You won’t just be talking to us, but also to 3rd party vendors where required;
- Intuition and insight dealing with business-critical data, finding patterns and trends, leading up to helping decision makers be more informed and data-driven.
Nice to have traits
- A passion to improve existing processes and frameworks, and create new ones if needed. We’d love for you to help us organize our data systems better;
- Direct experience with Laravel / PHP programming and MySQL databases is certainly a plus;
- Likewise, direct experience with BigQuery, GA3, GA4, GSC, FastSpring, Segment.io, Mixpanel is a big plus;
- Understanding which pieces of information are important usually means you have a good command of business concepts, economics and growth, especially for SaaS. But that’s entirely optional if you’ve got great intuition;
- Some experience with AI-driven data interpretation tools and systems is a plus;
- Some tangent experience working in the Cyber Security industry is also a plus, to better understand the business.

Our growth has been almost entirely organic so far, so we focus on fueling and strengthening the virtuous cycle of learning what our customers need and using that to build tools and features which make their work more meaningful - and their lives easier. Data is central to that endeavor, and we feel like we’ve got some patches to fill in that regard.
This job, as you might’ve guessed it, is a hybrid between a traditional Data Engineer, a Data Analyst / Visualization expert, and a Business Analysis / Business Intelligence expert. Hence, with help from our existing team, you will be in charge of (or helping out with):
- Data architecture & infrastructure: Make sure all our data is properly collected and centralized, from all sources. This means third party platform data (like payment providers), web analytics data and product / platform analytics data should be stored safely somewhere you decide.
- Data maintenance & optimization: Maintain the data, catch and fix any anomalies and try to find good redundancies for improved robustness and predictability.
- Business Analysis & communication: Understand where the business is from a data standpoint, speak directly to key stakeholders and draw out their goals, needs and requirements.
- Business Intelligence & visualization: Build out dashboards, visualizations and reports that help us make better, data-driven decisions and track our progress to achieving our goals.
- Data analysis & insights: Point out any issues or opportunities you can see in the data to help us better steer the business in the right direction.
Just bear in mind that we don’t expect you to do everything by yourself, unless you feel you’ve got experience to handle that workload. We do, however, expect you to tell us what’s working and what’s not in the setup we have, so we can cover the rest of the gaps either with the existing team, or with potential future collaborators.
We’ve adopted a 1 day at the office flexible schedule because we think it’s important you meet and know the people you’re working with to develop a bond and improve communication. But we also believe some of the deep work required in this industry is mostly done solo, so the rest of the week can be remote.
We communicate on Slack and email, and we also believe in asynchronous communication for all but the most critical issues.
