Purpose of the position:
The Airport Development Manager is primarily responsible for negotiating and delivering airport and ground handling deals for the Wizz Air Group. The role involves building and managing C-level business relationships with airports, tourism bodies, and other organizations, as well as identifying and presenting new airport and route opportunities to the Senior Management team of the Airline.
Responsibilities:
•Act as the key contact person for airport and ground handling partners regarding commercial matters
•Cooperate with the Network Development team and other key internal stakeholders to identify, recommend, and assess strategic route development and base opportunities for Wizz Air
•Develop and manage relationships with airports, ground handling partners, and other organizations in the assigned regions
•Develop relationships with Ministries of Transportation and Tourism and other governmental bodies to support airport development efforts
•Manage the contracting of airport agreements and related incentive programmes and secure capacity at airports
•Develop forecasts and proposals to improve efficiency and reduce airport and ground handling cost
•Provide ad-hoc reports on airport cost-related issues to the Head of Airport Development West, Finance, and Controlling
•Provide market intelligence and field information to the commercial organization, including passenger traffic, competitor movements, and market updates
•Participate in preparing the yearly airport and ground handling budget and manage cost on the assigned locations
•Organize and manage airport/ground handling selection tenders
•Set up action plans to achieve targets and meet budget requirements for each airport and ground handler
