Job Description
Key job responsibilities
* Define and drive Amazon's technical strategy for regulatory compliance and product safety across all global businesses, protecting billions in annual Gross Merchandise Sales
* Architect and lead 1) Zero-Touch Compliance — an AI-driven automation framework that eliminates manual intervention across the end-to-end compliance lifecycle, 2) Unified Content Processing Pipeline (UCPP), a centralized platform for artifact processing across product compliance, account compliance, authenticity, and quality, 3) Compliance Assist, a suite of conversational AI agents that provide compliance guidance, requirement interpretation, and decision explanation, 4) strategy for "Compliance by Amazon" (CBA), including Digital Product Passport (DPP) capabilities
* Provide technical leadership on complex global regulations including GPSR, EUDR, EUBR, and DSA
* Manage business continuity risks across 70+ systems and 400+ production pipelines processing 375M+ compliance evidences annually
* Drive Architecture Simplification initiatives
A day in the life
On any given day, you might be reviewing the architecture of a new AI-powered compliance validation pipeline, aligning with partner teams across multiple VP organizations on a regulatory deadline, or advising on trade-offs between speed, cost, and brand trust for a new compliance feature. You will work closely with product, legal, and operations stakeholders to translate complex regulatory requirements (such as GPSR or EUDR) into scalable technical solutions. You will also mentor senior engineers and influence the technical roadmap for one of Amazon's most critical trust and safety platforms.

The Compliance & Safety Services (CoSS) team is part of Amazon's Trustworthy Shopping Experience (TSE) organization. We build the compliance infrastructure that underpins Amazon's global marketplace — verifying hundreds of millions of compliance evidences each year and enabling Amazon to meet regulatory obligations across 10 countries and 30 locations. Our team of 250 engineers and technical professionals operates at the intersection of AI, regulatory technology, and large-scale distributed systems. Our mission is to develop services which will enable every Amazon service operating with personal data to satisfy the privacy rights of Amazon customers. We are working backwards from the customers and world-wide privacy regulations, think long term, and propose solutions which will assure Amazon Privacy compliance. Our external customers are world-wide customers of Amazon Retail Website, Amazon B2B services (e.g. Seller central, App / Skill Developers), and Amazon Subsidiaries. Our internal customers are services within Amazon who operate with personal data, Legal Representatives, and Customer Service Agents.
