Ideal Candidate

British School of Bucharest is seeking a legal advisor (jurist) to cover our legal needs (commercial, tax, employment, and compliance law). This role involves drafting, negotiating, and reviewing legal documentation, providing specialized legal consultancy, and representing the organization’s interests in dealings with authorities and external partners.

Requirements:
  • Law degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as an in-house counsel / lawyer in a multinational company.
  • Strong knowledge of civil law, corporate law, commercial law, labour law and intellectual property law.
  • Excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving orientation.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that the organization’s rules, documents, regulations, and procedures comply with applicable legislation.
  • Conduct legal research and provide updates on legislative developments relevant to organization’s activities.
  • Analyze legislative initiatives' impact on the organization and propose engagement strategies.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, addendums, and legal memoranda.
  • Provide legal advice and draft legal opinions related to day-to-day activities to other departments (e.g., Finance, Procurement, DPO, HR, Admissions etc.)
  • Responsible for assisting in the establishment and registration of new business locations, ensuring compliance with local regulations and obtaining necessary permits.
  • Providing legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructuring.
  • Prepare reports and updates for management as required.
  • Represent the organization before authorities
