WHO YOU ARE

• Full-cycle, not piecemeal. At least 3 years in an accounting firm (current or past), running a multi-client portfolio at "nivel balanță" (month-end closes, VAT, SAF-T, standard ANAF forms) and "nivel bilanț" - you own clients end to end, not one fragment of the process.
• A consultant, not just a processor. You spot what a client actually needs, turn it into a billable service, and are rewarded for it (10% described below). If you see the job as pure data entry, this is not the role.
• Experienced with international clients, not only Romanian ones - this matters a lot to us. Serving foreign-owned clients is a different way of working: reporting to a group or parent abroad, deadlines set by a head office, and proactive, structured communication in English with non-Romanian stakeholders. You have actually done this, not only Romanian-only accounting.
• Automation-first. You don't fight repetitive work - you eliminate it. Comfortable with SAGA or Nexus ERP, with APIs and CSV/XML imports, and genuinely interested in tools like FGO and Profluo that take the manual load off accountants.
• Cloud-native, zero-paper. Google Workspace and Google Sheets as core tools (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, QUERY, IMPORTRANGE), videocalls, screen sharing, VPNs, document management. Candidates who live primarily in standalone local Excel files will not be a good fit.
• Fluent Romanian (native or near-native). This is Romanian statutory accounting - ANAF filings, financial statements under Romanian regulations, local clients - so the daily working language is Romanian. Candidates without Romanian-language ability and Romanian-market experience are not a fit for this role.
• A genuine working command of English, spoken and written. Our portfolio and our TAG Alliances network are international: you can hold a technical conversation with a client and write an accurate report without help. This is used daily and is non-negotiable - it will be assessed in English during the interview.
• A strong plus (not required): CECCAR membership (expert contabil) - or being actively in the CECCAR traineeship (stagiu). We value it and support the path.

• independent accountants / experți contabili ready to trade the burden of running their own book for a stable, well-equipped seat.

This role is for accountants who work (or have worked) in a Romanian accounting firm, owning a portfolio of multiple clients end to end. It is not the right fit if your experience is solely in-house at a single company, or limited to one part of the process rather than the full cycle. We are looking for the rarer profile: the accountant who takes a client from the first entry all the way to the submitted bilanț, and talks to the client along the way.

Working English is essential - not a nice-to-have. A real part of your week is in English: international clients and our TAG Alliances network. Your English, spoken and written, will be assessed during the process - the interview is partly conducted in English, and one application question must be answered in English. Please apply only if you genuinely work in English, not just "understand it."

THE OPPORTUNITY

You already know the reality of Romanian accounting: the rules change constantly, and the sheer volume pushes the work toward fragmentation - everyone handles a piece, and it becomes easy to lose sight of the whole client. We are building the opposite: a firm where the full-cycle accountant is the center of gravity, backed by real automation instead of buried under manual work.

Right now we are rolling out API connections banks-accounting software and ML posting/allocation (contare), on top of the RPA and Data Studio layer we already run. The mechanical load is being engineered away - so your time goes to what actually requires judgment: the close, the bilanț, the review, and the advice clients pay for. You are not joining to survive fragmentation. You are joining to build the tool that ends it.

THE DEAL

• Net Salary: EUR 1,600 - 1,900 (based on education, experience and skills) + Meal Vouchers.
• Monthly performance bonus: 10% of the optional/advisory services you generate and invoice. The demand is there; what is usually missing is an accountant with the instinct - and now the time - to capture it. We are structuring the role so you can.
• We support your professional qualification path: we cover your remaining ACCA/CFA exam and registration fees, and we back the CECCAR route (stagiu and exams).
• Bucharest (Piața Victoriei) | Full-time, indefinite.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Full-cycle accounting for a defined, diverse portfolio of local and international clients - first entry to bilanț submitted.
• Tax reporting & compliance: preparation and submission of tax returns and annual/interim financial statements, support for audits and tax inspections.
• Help build the new way of working: adopt and refine and automation tols so posting and reconciliation stop being manual, and flag the next workflows worth automating.
• Advisory & client ownership: be the primary point of contact for your clients, explain the story behind the numbers, and proactively propose value-adding services.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

• Part of the interview is conducted in English. Working English (spoken and written) is a hard requirement, not a formality.
• A short technical task (Excel/Google Sheets and accounting logic) may be included.
• Two professional references from previous employers will be requested, with your consent, before any offer.
