Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior accounting professional with strong financial reporting experience, ideally gained in a multinational, shared services, industrial, energy, or oil & gas environment.

Candidate profile requirements:
  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • 7–10 years of overall experience in Finance & Accounting
  • Professional certification required, such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or CECCAR
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in financial accounting, financial statement preparation, tax, and/or consolidation
  • Experience in financial reporting and statutory accounting
  • Exposure to industrial, consolidated, and international environments
  • Experience with tax reporting and collaboration with tax teams is a strong advantage
  • Solid knowledge of IFRS and/or French Local GAAP
  • Strong understanding of month/year-end closing, financial reporting processes, and internal controls
  • Experience with external audits, statutory reporting, and interactions with tax authorities
  • Experience in multi-entity, international, EP/JV environments is a strong advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly when dealing with complex or non-standard accounting matters
  • Technically proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills
  • Autonomous, rigorous, well-organized, and comfortable working with complexity and tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • French: Advanced level (C1) – compulsory
  • English: Advanced level (C1) – compulsory

Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial and tax accounting records, income statements, balance sheets, notes to the financial statements, and consolidated financial statements for the entities within scope
  • Perform financial analyses and provide accounting support to business units and Finance departments
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of financial reporting and submission deadlines
  • Calculate estimated and final taxes, prepare tax reports, and compile consolidation packages in accordance with IFRS
  • Finalize annual financial statements and prepare related notes
  • Respond to external auditors' requests during annual financial statement audits
  • Prepare accounting and tax files and tax returns within the required deadlines
  • Prepare audit files for each entity and submit them to the Division’s Chief Accountant for approval
  • Prepare documentation and supporting information required for inquiries from tax authorities and CCE experts
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and contribute to the implementation of new accounting and tax requirements
  • Prepare management reports and ensure consistency with consolidated financial statements, where applicable
  • Participate in the entity’s budgeting process and manage the creation and monitoring of RFSs, where applicable
  • Contribute to performance improvement projects and the preparation of technical accounting notes
  • Ensure the proper fulfillment of contractual obligations toward internal and external clients
  • Prepare reports for Balance Sheet Committees and participate in the implementation of internal accounting rules
  • Provide accounting and tax support to subsidiaries within the scope and, when required, to other subsidiaries facing specific operational or geopolitical challenges
  • Support the setup of accounting systems for new operating subsidiaries under the supervision of the Regional Chief Accountant
  • Support Finance teams during start-up operations, including bank account opening and training of local Finance teams
  • Contribute to the development of cost accounting structures to meet the reporting requirements of subsidiaries, partners, and host governments
  • Support cost allocation processes across joint ventures and the configuration of fixed assets
  • Where applicable, support operator activities including billing statements, capital calls, farm-ins/farm-outs, past costs, and financial reporting to host countries and foreign tax authorities
  • Support the migration of subsidiaries from one accounting framework to another
  • Participate in partner audits within joint ventures and, where applicable, in host-country audits related to PSC/PSA/buyback agreements
