The EHS Coordinator will have full responsibility for coordinating EHS activities at site level, ensuring compliance with Romanian legislation and Group EHS standards, and reporting to the Group EHS function.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and oversee EHS activities, ensuring compliance with applicable occupational health & safety, fire safety, emergency response, and environmental legislation.
Develop, update, and implement risk assessments, prevention and protection plans, emergency procedures, evacuation plans, and other EHS documentation.
Organize and coordinate EHS training, workplace inspections, emergency drills, and awareness activities for employees and contractors.
Investigate work accidents, incidents, and near misses, identify root causes, and define and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor workplace safety conditions and environmental performance, including PPE requirements, waste management, recycling, environmental monitoring, and resource consumption.
Ensure the proper management and availability of fire prevention and emergency response equipment and participate in fire risk assessments.
Coordinate internal and external EHS audits and maintain compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
Develop and maintain EHS procedures, instructions, standards, and KPIs, providing regular reports and recommendations to management.
Liaise with relevant authorities and external partners, coordinate required environmental reporting, and support regulatory inspections.
Coordinate the Health & Safety Committee and actively contribute to organizational risk assessment and continuous improvement initiatives.
Occupational Health & Safety (SSM) Inspector / Specialist certification, minimum 80 hours
Fire Safety Technical Specialist (PSI) certification
Environmental Management / Environmental Officer certification
Strong knowledge of applicable legislation and regulatory requirements related to:
Occupational Health & Safety
Fire Safety & Emergency Situations
Environmental Protection
ISO 45001 Internal Auditor
ISO 14001 Internal Auditor
Integrated Management System Auditor certification
Training in accident investigation and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar EHS/HSE role
Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive industry
Experience in dealing with regulatory and inspection authorities
Hands-on experience in the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
Experience in coordinating and supporting internal and external audits
Excellent organizational and planning skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong leadership and cross-functional influencing skills
Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization
Ability to train, coach, and engage employees
Results-driven mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement
Proactive approach with a strong prevention and safety-oriented mindset
Advanced English
