Ideal Candidate
The CPQ and Engineering Tools Specialist will report to the EMEA Process Improvement Manager within the Technology Application Engineering and Market Development function. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining product configurators and supporting the continuous improvement of engineering and sales tools used in the Opportunity-to-Order process.
The position will focus on product modeling, configuration logic, and system integration within CPQ platforms, with particular emphasis on product configurators such as Tacton CPQ and other similar solutions. The specialist will collaborate with engineering, product management, and IT teams to translate complex product structures and business requirements into scalable configuration models.
In addition, the role may support visualization initiatives, including preparation or integration of 3D product representations within CPQ configurators when applicable.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Contribute to the design, prototyping, and development of product configurators and engineering tools supporting the Opportunity-to-Order process.
• Develop and maintain product models, configuration rules, and constraints within CPQ platforms such as Tacton or similar systems.
• Translate engineering product structures (BOMs, variants, options, dependencies) into scalable configurator models.
• Participate in testing, validation, and release of configurator updates and engineering tools impacting product configuration or pricing logic.
• Support the day-to-day administration of CPQ applications and integrations with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, and pricing tools.
• Work closely with product management and engineering teams to define specifications for new product configurators and ensure proper integration within the IT ecosystem.
• Support pricing/costing updates and ensure pricing logic and revisions are correctly implemented in the configurator environment.
• Ensure developed solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with overall business requirements.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and identify/document functional gaps.
• Participate in solution architecture reviews with project teams prior to development activities.
• Track assigned tasks, deliverables, risks, and issues and report progress to management when required.
• Monitor issues related to configuration tools and drive them to resolution.
• In coordination with Application Engineers, develop or enhance web-based tools to automate engineering and sales activities.
• Support data management, product configuration documentation, and content creation to enable internal stakeholders, partners, and customers.
• Ensure a strong understanding and application of CPQ logic, configuration rules, pricing models, and the Quote-to-Order process.
Optional Visualization / 3D Responsibilities
• Support the integration of product visualization capabilities within CPQ configurators when applicable.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to prepare product models for visualization purposes.
• Assist with linking configuration options to visual product representations in configurators.
• Contribute to the preparation or optimization of 3D product assets for digital product configuration tools.

Job Description
School Background & Basic Qualifications
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering Systems, or related fields
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Experience working in an international environment is considered an advantage Technical Skills
• Experience with Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) platforms is preferred (experience with Tacton CPQ, Configure One, Oracle CPQ or similar tools is highly desirable)
• Experience with product configuration modeling, constraints-based configuration, rule-based configuration, and product data structures (BOM, variants, constraints)
• Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as JavaScript, Java, or similar is desired
• Experience with structured web-based applications used by multiple users
• Experience with Quote-to-Order or Opportunity-to-Order systems is preferred
• Familiarity with CAD or product engineering data structures is an advantage
• Basic understanding of 3D product models or visualization technologies is a plus
• Excellent practical use of Microsoft Office 365 Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Visio
• Experience with SharePoint is preferred
• Experience with Smartsheet/AppSheets is preferred Soft Skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
