Ideal Candidate

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Chief Accountant (sole accountant) to lead and manage the company's accounting function in Romania. The successful candidate will play a key role in the migration of accounting processes from NextUp to Microsoft Dynamics 365, and will subsequently be responsible for the full accounting cycle, statutory compliance, tax reporting, and financial management activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and ensure the highest standards of financial accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the migration of accounting processes and data from NextUp software to Microsoft Dynamics 365 by January 1, 2027.
  • Perform daily accounting operations, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time in compliance with company policies and Romanian regulations.
  • Manage the full accounting cycle, including processing primary accounting documents through preparation of annual financial statements.
  • Execute month-end and year-end closing activities while meeting strict reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare accurate management reports and provide financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with management to identify and resolve financial and accounting issues.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns and statutory financial statements in accordance with Romanian legislation.
  • Participate in budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, and consolidation processes.
  • Ensure effective communication and cooperation with internal and external stakeholders to maintain compliant and efficient financial processes.
  • Maintain relationships and correspondence with banks, tax authorities, and statistical institutions, including the preparation of required reports and declarations.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audit activities.
  • Monitor changes in accounting and tax regulations and ensure ongoing compliance.
