Role Purpose

The Technical Director leads technical strategy for crop protection products, seeds, fertilizers and agricultural technologies. The role is responsible for developing a competitive product portfolio, coordinating the Technical Consulting team and providing technical expertise that supports commercial growth and long-term partnerships with farmers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Strategy & Portfolio Development

• Define and implement the technical strategy for product portfolio.

• Identify opportunities to develop and optimize the portfolio based on market needs and industry trends.

• Evaluate new products and technologies and support their successful introduction to the market.

• Contribute to the annual business planning process through technical expertise and market insights.

Market & Supplier Management

• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and new agricultural technologies.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers.

• Support the technical evaluation of products and participate in supplier meetings and field trials.

• Identify opportunities to strengthen competitive positioning.

Technical Support & Commercial Excellence

• Provide technical guidance to Sales, Marketing and Category Management teams.

• Participate in customer meetings, field demonstrations and technical events.

• Support the development of technical materials, product launches and commercial campaigns.

• Ensure high-quality technical recommendations for customers and internal teams.

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop the Technical Consulting team.

• Set objectives, monitor performance and support the professional development of team members.

• Encourage collaboration between Technical Consultants, Sales and Marketing teams.

• Promote a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

Business Performance

• Monitor portfolio performance and recommend improvement actions.

• Prepare technical analyses and reports for senior management.

• Support budget planning and contribute to achieving business objectives.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

• University degree in Agronomy, Crop Protection or a related agricultural field.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in agribusiness.

• At least 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.

• Strong knowledge of crop protection products, seeds and fertilizers.

• Experience in product portfolio development and supplier management.

• Experience in business planning and budget management.

• Fluent English.

• Driving licence (Category B).
