Job Description
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join Bytex and work with one of our clients on a GeoAI platform for data scientists. The role combines hands-on work with GCP infrastructure, deployment of ML models, scaling and networking, alongside Python development.
Manage and scale cloud infrastructure and services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Deploy ML models and maintain the infrastructure needed to run them reliably.
Troubleshoot infrastructure, scaling, networking and database connectivity issues.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code.
Develop and maintain Python services and automation scripts.
Deploy, test and monitor Python services in GCP.
Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to improve deployment processes, performance and reliability.
EU flexible schedule (9–18 CET/EEST).
Sprint meetings are scheduled on an ad hoc basis, as needed.
Short Bytex HR introductory discussion;
1-2h Bytex technical discussion with one of our senior engineers;
1-2h technical discussion with the customer (direct colleague);
Offer presentation.
Senior-level experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure or a similar engineering role.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with Python.
Strong hands-on experience with GCP, including deploying and scaling production workloads.
Strong understanding of cloud networking and connectivity between services and databases.
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases; familiarity with DuckDB is a plus.
Solid experience with Flask, FastAPI or similar Python frameworks.
Practical experience using Pulumi or Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
Experience with monitoring cloud services and troubleshooting performance and reliability issues.
Proficiency in using Claude Code.
Familiarity with the Agentic Development Lifecycle is nice to have.
Experience deploying and operating ML models is nice to have.
Familiarity with Argo, Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools is a plus.
Experience working with geospatial data is nice to have.
